This song was written 'on the fly' by Ray Charles at a show in 1958. In 1959, Ray Charles put out an album named "What'd I Say". Later, Frank Sinatra said that Ray Charles was the only true genius, but I would most certainly add Jerry Lee Lewis among others to the list of true geniuses.
Jerry Lee Lewis did part one and two of this song right in the middle of the greatest live show in history. One of the first Rock and Roll albums recorded live onstage in 1964. Star Club in Hamburg, Germany backed by the fabulous, rocking "Nashville Teens". They went away in the years following but Jerry Lee Lewis kept right on going..
